We know mental health is important and we also know that physical health is important as well, but we want to talk about how the two are actually very connected to each other.

Breaking the stigma
Physical health sometimes is a lot easier to talk about and discuss with doctors and family members. When it comes to mental health sometimes therapy and medication is looked down upon in certain households and communities. Well I'm here to tell you it is okay to seek help if you feel that's what you need. Our mental health can play such a huge roll in how our bodies are responding. Stress and anxiety can lead to lack of sleep and weight gain which all ties in together.
What can you do to combat both?
This is a full circle that can be difficult to find the right way to start. Mental health is down which makes you tired and not want to workout, but in turn exercising can help with your mental health as well. Its just hard to get started! Talk with your doctor about your options. sometimes getting the mental help you need will put you in a better mood to have the energy to exercise. No matter what route you choose make sure to have a great support system behind you even if that support system is yourself. There are many forums and groups on Facebook that may be going through what you are so that you can have a community to encourage and support you as well. Our focus is to create a well rounded health for everyone. Not just the physical part of health.

"The body can't exist without a healthy and strong mind. I didn't really start to grasp what that meant and how important that was until 2 years ago. Because I take care of and show up for myself mentally, I'm a better person. A better wife, mother, daughter, sister and contributing member of society." -Dioswal Cook
